The Wisconsin Environmental Education Foundation helps organizations and individuals secure the future of environmental education in Wisconsin. We treasure Wisconsin’s natural resources heritage just as you do.

Critical ecological and economic challenges confront our communities today. When we assess the effects of climate change, world population growth or global economic expansion, we recognize these problems demand informed and thoughtful solutions. Wisconsin can successfully meet these challenges through a committed public-private educational partnership.

WEEF and its partners support K-12 teacher training as well as classroom and field learning for students. In addition, we invest in higher education, business training, and adult continuing education. We work to extend the range and reach of the state’s existing environmental education framework and we help innovative educators design and test new curricula.

WEEF donors finance a well-managed portfolio of educational resources that:

• Respond to emerging needs of Wisconsin’s citizens, businesses and communities
• Strengthen the capacity of K-12 students to meet environmental education achievement standards
• Help connect higher education, technical education, and continuing professional development with innovation in environmental management
• Provide private and public leaders and the general public with reliable resources for self-directed environmental learning when at work or play
• Greatly enlarge the reach of outdoor studies to urban residents, the disabled, and others whose daily lives do not include regular exposure to nature’s systems, flora and fauna
