Highlights of Work Experience:

  • Environmental Education Coordinator for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources – Project WILD and Project Learning Tree programs (1979-1992)
  • Environmental Education Consultant - Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (1992-1994)
  • Co-authored 1994 revision of Guide to Curriculum Planning in Environmental Education
  • Worked on the development and implementation of numerous EE projects and programs in Wisconsin and the US
  • Former chairperson of Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education
  • Sabbatical with National Park Service – Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (MI) – working on the development of a Long Range Plan for Interpretation and Education (2008-2009)
  • Conducted university academic programs in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and South Pacific (Fiji, Australia, New Zealand)

Special Areas of Interest:

  • Consulting with Wisconsin schools in the area of outdoor site utilization and development for environmental education
  • Conducting courses and teacher in-service workshops on various environmental education topics
  • Environmental education curriculum development
  • Consultation to state and regional agencies, nature and environmental centers, and schools on a variety of environmental education initiatives (LEAF, Earth Partnership for Schools Program, Great Lakes Education Collaborative, Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative – Education)
  • Pre-service teacher education
  • Outdoor nature photography
