About WAEE

Regions

In 2004, stakeholders from across Wisconsin gathered in Stevens Point on December 6th to discuss strategies for improving and increasing environmental education in our state. Strong support was expressed for the development of regional EE networks throughout the state. To assist in the regional growth of environmental education, the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education Board has approved the development of 5 regional networks for WAEE members. These regions are based on the WDNR regional structure. See the map below to locate your region.

Possible goals for these regional networks are:

- Scheduled face-to-face meetings for members
- Sharing of resources
- Collaboration of events
- Promotion of region-specific environmental issues within each region
- Mentoring of new EE advocates
- Sharing of regional concerns with the statewide network
- Recruitment of new WAEE members

These are just a few of the possible actions and/or benefits for regional networking. We look forward to working with WAEE members to develop regional action.
