Scholarship Program

Educator Scholarships
Thanks to the 2007 Midwest Environmental Education Conference (MEEC) hosted by WAEE and the Wisconsin River Academy, the WAEE offers scholarships to formal and non-formal educators to attend conferences.

Scholarship Criteria:
1. Applicants must be a current WAEE member at the time of application.
2. Scholarship applications must be accompanied by a completed conference registration form.
3. Scholarships will cover up to 75% of conference fees. The maximum grant will be $165.00 per scholarship recipient.
4. During the conference, scholarship recipients must volunteer at least 2 hours with the conference planning committee. Scholarship recipients who fail to fulfill their volunteer responsibilities will forfeit their scholarship and be expected to pay WAEE for the full cost of their attendance.

Selection Procedure & Timetable:
• Application and registration must be received no later than the deadline on the form.
• Scholarship applications will be reviewed by scholarship committee.
• Scholarship recipients will be notified by the scholarship committee no later than two weeks prior to conference.
• Scholarship winners need to check in at registration to obtain volunteer duties.

Student Scholarships
The Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education (WAEE) is pleased to announce the availability of student scholarships for attending conferences. The goal of the scholarship program is to support students who are interested in pursuing careers in the field of environmental education.

Please carefully read the criteria below and please contact WAEE with questions.

Scholarships Include:
• Up to $75.00 of conference registration fees (can include registration, meals, workshops, field trip, and lodging). The maximum grant will be $75.00 per scholarship recipient.

Criteria:
1. Applicants must be a current WAEE member at the time of application.
2. Applicants must be enrolled at least halftime in a Wisconsin college or university in environmental education, interpretation, education or a related field.
3. Scholarship applications must be accompanied by a completed registration form.
4. Scholarships will cover conference fees. The maximum grant will be $75.00 per scholarship recipient.
5. During the conference, scholarship recipients must volunteer at least 2 hours with the conference planning committee. Scholarship recipients who fail to fulfill their volunteer responsibilities will forfeit their scholarship and be expected to pay WAEE for the full cost of their attendance.

• Students who paid conference fees up front, will receive refund checks after scholarships are awarded.
• Students need to attend the conference and meet with the conference chair at registration to obtain volunteer duties.
