Public Programs

Treehaven's Public Programs offers a wide variety of opportunities to get you or your family outdoors and having fun.  Offerings range, from nature related crafts and skills such as snowshoe weaving or outdoor photography to in depth study of wolves or opportunity to become proficient in Leave-No-Trace, backpacking, yoga and much more.  College credit is often available.  Weekend workshops generally run Friday night through Sunday lunch and are all inclusive with instruction, great meals and comfortable lodging all on site.

Wolf Ecology Workshop

Native American Flute Workshop
Join Tom Gustin for this popular Native American Flute making workshop!  Flutes will be constructed based on an individual's anatomy.  Each flute is personal and has its own personal song the owner must find.  No musical espereince is required.  Register early, this workshop fills fast!  Click for brochure.

Dinner and a Movie: An Environmental Discussion Series     NEW
January 25; February 6 & 23; March 7 & 21; April 4 & 26. 
The ever popular Dinner and A Movie Series continues in 2012 on the dates noted above. Each film selected is designed to be thought-provoking. A discussion on the environmental themes and implications presented in the movies will follow the dinner. It will again be a fun and enlightening evening. WAEE Winter Workshop 2012    NEW!
Awareness, Action, Enjoyment

Three day workshop focuses on winter environmental education and offers opportunities for experiential learning, professional development, cross country  skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, enjoying music by the beautiful stone fireplace or simply taking in the gorgeous view from the warm and cozy dining hall. www.waee.org  Flyer.

Snowshoe Race     NEW!
Treehaven will  host the “Treehaven Tromp”, a 5k and 10k snowshoe fun-run and race. The “Tromp” is part of the “Braveheart Snow Shoe Racing Series”cutemoose.net , and a 2011-2012 United States Snowshoe Association (USSSA) Regional Qualifying Event leading to the USSA National Championships held in Frisco Colorado on February 24th through the 26th. Leadership Development: Group Process and Facilitation Skills Course
This course will concentrate on effective techniques for group creative brainstorming, decision making, and prioritization of ideas.  Adapted nominal group consensus building skills, concept mapping and digraphs are some of the specific techniques participants will practice and learn to apply to their group or team situation.
