Visioning Workshop:
Nominal Group Process
A "nominal group process" was
used to collect and rank
responses from the visioning
workshop.
- A question was posed and participants had
several minutes to write down their responses on worksheets.
- Each participant then shared one of their
answers, which was recorded on a sheet of paper with minimal
discussion.
- Participants continued to share until all
responses were exhausted.
- Participants were asked to discuss the
responses and combine similar ideas to reduce the number of
categories.
- Answers were then ranked by participants
based on the response's perceived importance.
- Each participant was given 15 points per
question. They could distribute the points however they wanted among
responses, but no response could be given more than 5 points by a
single person.
- This ranking is included after each response
on the results
document. For example, a (6)
means that participants gave the response 6 points.
