As Wisconsin’s oldest member-based nature preserve, The Ridges Sanctuary serves a unique niche in Door County. The Sanctuary not only protects one of the most biologically diverse areas in the state, but also stands as a stunning demonstration of how involved citizens can protect and conserve natural ecosystems.
Today, The Ridges is setting the
stage for a meaningful public
outreach effort that will expand
its stewardship mission through
the development of a new center
for environmental stewardship.
An
interpretive master plan
is being developed by Schmeeckle
Reserve Interpreters, a
consulting team from the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point. The plan will help guide
the development of the facility,
site, trail systems, and media
associated with the interpretive center.
This website was created as a
centralized resource to post
information gathered during this
planning process.
