The Green Circle Trail
Schmeeckle Reserve is the headquarters of the Green Circle Trail, a 26-mile natural hiking and biking trail that loops around the Stevens Point area. About 1.4 miles of the Green Circle meanders through the northern part of Schmeeckle, with easy access to the rest of the Reserve's trails.

Special Rules and Considerations in Schmeeckle:
- Pets are not allowed on this portion of the Green Circle due to UWSP regulations. Pets are allowed on all other segments of the Green Circle.
- Bikes are allowed, but must be ridden slowly. The trails are heavily used by walkers and joggers, and pedestrians have the right-of-way.
- An alternative route is available along North Point Drive for trail users with pets.
