In order to assist states who are building capacity for environmental education and developing sustainable grassroots organizations, NEEAP offers Resources and Opportunities. In this section, you will find information and contacts geared towards networking, partnering and funding opportunities, new initiatives, and relevant Internet links and list serves.

Environmental Education Materials
NAAEE's newest compendium of EE resources is now available. Called The Environmental Collection: A Review of Resources for Educators Volume II it is specifically designed to help educators find curricula, multimedia resources, and other educational materials. This recent volume can be used independently of its predecessor and has significant improvements, including a Publisher Index and an Author & Editor Index. Free EE Materials and Fact Sheets from the USEPA
Through support from the USEPA's Office of Environmental Education (OEE), the National Center for Environmental Publications and Information (NCEPI) is offering a number of free EE publications while supplies last. These publications are cataloged and may be ordered from NCEPI's website at http://www.epa.gov/ncepihom/ncepitest/home2.html or by calling 1-800-490-9198. The USEPA also has a helpful set of fact sheets on OEE's new website at http://www.epa.gov/enviroed/. Several additional fact sheets are in the works!

Funding Resources
sphere2.gif (523 bytes) The Stern Family Fund has a "Strategic Opportunities" program to provide funding to organizations poised to make a difference. Only agencies with budgets under $500,000 are eligible to apply. sphere2.gif (523 bytes) Research grants in leadership studies for groups from 2-7 people are being sponsored by the Center for Advanced Study of Leadership at the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership (University of Maryland). Grants are awarded for five-day periods of intensive, collaborative work in leadership studies and cover the cost of travel, lodging and meals. sphere2.gif (523 bytes) The Council on Foundation has a great set of links at: http://www.cof.org/links/memberindex.htm that connects to member foundations and corporate giving programs with websites. There are dozens of grantmakers, big and small, listed alphabetically.
sphere2.gif (523 bytes) Charity Web, a for-profit company, has a new way to use the web to fund raise. You can (for free) open a wing in their on-line bookstore and 50% of the revenue of any books sold in your wing goes to your organization (http://www.charityweb.com).

Funding for WWW Site Development
The Web Development Fund is looking for websites that crystallize the potential of the Web to organize people, and get people to think about challenges. It's the Fund's second year of supporting both individuals and organizations in innovative Web projects. Guidelines, along with a list of last year's support recipients, are available at http://www.weblab.org. Deadline: September 13, 1998.
