Exciting plans are underway in Arkansas. According to Robert McAfee, Arkansas EE Association (AEEA) Coordinator, a sustainable state-wide EE association is necessary for the achievement of state-wide EE initiatives. Therefore, one of this new association's top priorities is to become the driving force in EE coordination for the state. AEEA is steadily growing, and membership covers a wide spectrum of interests, from businesses and nonformal centers, to state environmental agencies. To increase teacher membership an EE Expo is planned in June. The expo will focus on providing K-12 teachers and nonformal educators with an awareness of the AEEA and of quality EE resources available in Arkansas. Once AEEA has enhanced EE networking within the state and determined the status of EE in Arkansas, they plan to work directly with K-12 teachers in order to enhance the EE that is already being taught.
