When: June 16-21, 2005 (June 17-20 will be 4 full days of clinic program and the 16th and 21st should be scheduled as travel days.  Please schedule your flight to arrive no later than 3:00 pm EDT on June 16th)

Where: National Conservation Training Center, Shepherdstown, WV http://training.fws.gov/

Team Support
Each team will receive the following:

  • FREE registration
  • FREE lodging for 5 nights (June 16-21)  (You will need to call NCTC to reserve your room.  Each individual will receive a single room.  You must supply them with a credit card for incidentals.  The cost of the room will be paid by NEEAP.)
  • FREE meals and snacks (Thurs. dinner - Tues. lunch)
  • FREE shuttle service to and from the airport (You will need to schedule your shuttle with NCTC when you call to reserve your room - shuttles will depart from Dulles International Airport at 2pm and 4pm on Thurs, June 16 and depart from NCTC at 6am and 8am on Tues, June 21.)

Each team will be responsible for raising funds to support their travel to attend the 2005 EETAP Leadership Clinic.

Accommodations at NCTC
NCTC Check in: 1:00-9:00pm     NCTC Check out: Noon

Registration for clinic: prior to Welcome

Clinic begins: 7:30m (Welcome session for all participants)

To confirm your guest room (a single room will be available for each participant) at the National Conservation Training Center, call 1-877-706-NCTC (6282) by June 1, 2005. Request a room for the 2005 EETAP Leadership Clinic. When you call to confirm your room, you will also need to secure your space on the shuttle* (round trip).

Weather & Attire: The NCTC is a walking campus, so sturdy comfortable shoes are recommended. Temperatures should be pleasant during the day (70s-80s), with cool evenings (50s-60s). Please dress casually.

Travel
Driving In: For directions go to http://training.fws.gov/mapdir.html

Flying In: If you are using air transportation, please fly in to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). 

SHUTTLES ARE SCHEDULED FOR 2 PM AND 4 PM ON THURSDAY, JUNE 16
Please plan for your flight to arrive no later than 3 pm to catch the last shuttle at 4.

 SHUTTLES ARE SCHEDULED FOR 6 AM AND 8 AM ON TUESDAY, JUNE 21
Please allow 3 � hours prior to your departure for commute and check in.
(Breakfast is available at NCTC from 6:30-8:30 am.  You may also sign up to receive a bag Breakfast AND Lunch prior to your departure...details at clinic.)

Directions to Shuttle Pickup area at Dulles: From the main terminal, follow the signs to baggage pickup and proceed to the appropriate baggage carousel to claim your luggage. Once you have claimed your luggage, proceed to the airport Exit 7, directly across from the luggage carousels 2 & 3, proceed up the exit ramp to the shuttle pick up location. Picture ID is required to board the shuttle. The shuttle departs on time.

Shuttle description:

  • Bus is white with blue trim displaying 'NCTC' in blue (destination panel will display 'National Conservation Training Center')

  • Van displays USFWS/NCTC on the side.

Allow Adequate Time to Make Your Flight: When making flight arrangements, please allow a minimum of three hours for check-out, check-in, baggage handling, etc. Travel time between Dulles Airport and the NCTC is approximately two hours. Please make sure that all personal comforts are attended to prior to boarding the shuttle as there are no scheduled stops between the airport and NCTC.


If you are planning to rent a vehicle**, you may choose to fly in to any of the following airports:

  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), Sterling, VA

  • Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), Maryland

  • Reagan Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Arlington, VA

**If you choose to rent a vehicle to travel to/from NCTC, we encourage you to carpool with other participants.  The cost of car rental will be the responsibility of the individual/team.  Driving directions are located on the NCTC website at http://training.fws.gov/mapdir.html.
