2003 EETAP Leadership Clinic will be a "Treasure Hunt"

The 2003 EETAP Leadership Clinic will take place from July 9-13, 2003 at the Arbor Day Farm Lied Conference Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska. A state-of-the-art sustainably designed facility, the Lied Center will be the perfect setting for state and local teams and national partners to discover the "treasures" of EE capacity building including the strategies and tools found to be most successful for strengthening EE programs.  "Treasures" will also include the resources shared among participants throughout the clinic and the strengthening of teams, friendships and professional relationships. Teams will be attending from the states of Arizona, California, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Utah, and Washington and from the communities of Orange County, California, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Chaparral, New Mexico. Additionally, the Ground Water Foundation will be hosting a team.

A lively agenda will ensure that participants get the most out of their time at the 2003 EETAP Leadership Clinic. Participants should plan to dress casually and be ready to roll up their sleeves in the series of interactive planning, networking and professional development sessions planned. The agenda itself is carefully and creatively designed around the needs of the individuals and teams attending. Individual team planning sessions are interspersed through the agenda and are supported by each of the other sessions developed such as the Share Fair exchange, Community Based EE plenary, Open Space mini-conference, Professional Development concurrent sessions, and Diversity Dessert cultural celebration. The professional development sessions that will be offered include: a) Leadership Development, b) Addressing Diversity in EE Program Development, c) Evaluation (101 and 301), d) Fundraising for Program Sustainability, and e) Media and EE Promotion.

What will participants take away from the 2003 EETAP Leadership Clinic? A treasure box of inspired insights and ideas, plans, strategies, skills, tools, and networks for "navigating" towards the next EE capacity building horizon. Voyage by voyage, EE leaders are mapping out their course, risking innovative educational and organizational practice, developing new partnerships in new terrain's and overall "raising the hulls of all ships" in the effort to achieve environmental literacy at the local, state and national levels.  We've come a long way in this effort and the clinic will be a time to "restock" and get ready for the next series of adventures!
