Activity 3 - Foresters Make Headlines
Every year the
Wisconsin DNR - Division of Forestry sponsors an Arbor Day
poster contest. The
National Arbor
Day Foundation produces an new activity booklet on a particular
forestry theme each year. Fifth grade teachers are sent the
materials with instructions on how to enter their students' posters
into the statewide contest. Winners receive prizes and top entries
are made into a calendar for the following year. To celebrate
Wisconsin's forestry centennial in 2004, a special poster contest
booklet was created that year by the LEAF Program. Activities were
Wisconsin specific and reflected our state's forest history. Because
of their relevancy to Wisconsin, the activities are posted here for
your use.
