VOCABULARY - I

Industrial Forest - a forest which is owned by a company or corporation that operates a primary wood using plant (e.g., sawmill, paper mill).

Integrity - the condition of a forest as a whole including composition, structure, and function.

Intermediate - trees with crowns shorter than other trees around them. Their crowns extend into lower parts of the co-dominant and dominant trees crowns. They receive little direct light from above and none from the sides.

Invasive Exotic Species - a species that enters an area and causes harm by out-competing species that are already there.

Invasive Species - a species that enters and area and causes harm by out-competing species that are already there.
