Consulting Services for Schools
LEAF staff works with curriculum coordinators/teachers to help infuse forestry education into your school/district curriculum. We work with key staff to determine your needs and how they can be best met. Often, this results in setting up a LEAF workshop in your area.
LEAF workshops are generally for teachers at all grade levels and participants receive the LEAF Lesson Guide. Specialized workshops can also be held for particular grade levels if there is enough demand. Our goal is to have forestry education adopted on a district-wide level.
To work with one of our staff contact us at leaf@uwsp.edu or 715-346-4956.
WEEB Grant Assistance
Every year the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) offers general forestry education grants and school forest grants.
LEAF encourages you to apply for these grants and offers assistance in completing them. If you have questions about your proposal (e.g., is it a valid project, has it been funded before, etc.), please contact us. If your grant project includes LEAF in some manner (e.g., providing a workshop, assistance in school forest management plans, etc.) please let us know. We want to help you get the most from your efforts, create a workable timeline, and ensure it fits in our calendar.
