The College of Natural Resources Masters program is designed for students looking to pursue a Masters degree with an emphasis in a variety of areas such as forestry, wildlife, fisheries, water, human dimensions of natural resources, environmental education, soil science, waste management and others.

Specialized Masters Program Options

Extended Master of Science in Environmental Education for K-12 Teachers

The mission of the Master of Science in Natural Resources/Environmental Education for Elementary and Secondary Teachers Program is to initiate and facilitate the development, dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of a broad professional development graduate program to serve K-12 teachers. Candidates generally complete their Program of Study in three years, participating in online coursework in Fall and Spring with hands-on face-to-face coursework in Summer (one and two week sessions).

Graduate Fellowship in Residential Environmental Education

This program is a Northwoods Wisconsin residential learning experience culminating in an extraordinary master's degree in natural resources with a focus in residential environmental education. Fellows reside at the Conserve School in the beautiful northern forests of Wisconsin for all 4 semesters while completing UWSP distance learning and face-to-face courses. At the same time, they gain skills at an environmental school and a residential environmental education center.

Master of Science in Environmental Education and Interpretation

If you are a professional working in environmental education and interpretation (EE/I) and are interested in earning a Master's Degree, this program is for you. The Online M.S. in EE/I program offers you: a program designed especially for Environmental Education and Interpretation professionals, 100% of the degree offered via distance learning (no travel to UWSP is required), coursework to increase your knowledge and leadership skills in EE/I, and opportunities to meet other educators from around the world with similar interests.

Master of Science in Natural Resources Leadership and Administration

If you are a professional working in Natural Resources who is interested in earning a Master's Degree, this program is for you. The Natural Resources Leadership and Administration M.S. Program offers you: a program designed especially for Natural Resource professionals, 100% of the degree offered via distance learning (no travel to UWSP is required), coursework to Increase your knowledge and leadership skills in Natural Resources Leadership and Administration, the opportunity to meet other professionals from around the world who are working towards similar goals.

Peace Corps Opportunities

There are currently two Peace Corps opportunities available within the College of Natural Resources: Our Master's International program is for students that would like to combine advancing their degree and volunteering with the Peace Corps. Our Peace Corps Fellows program is for returning Peace Corps volunteers who would like to advance their education.
