Green Energy Programs in Wisconsin

K-12 Energy Education Program

Depending on where you live, you may be able to use renewable energy on a daily basis without any modification to your lifestyle. Most public utilities in Wisconsin participate in programs that give home and business owners the opportunity to purchase renewable energy from them. You may have noticed large wind turbines in different areas of the state with utility logos on them. The energy that is produced from the wind turbines is sold to people who are interested in supporting renewable energy. The electricity generated by renewable sources is fed into the state's electric system, called the grid. It is like pouring a pitcher of water into a pond. You can't get the same water from the pitcher back out of the pond, but it is there being used along with a mix of other generating sources.

Go to your utilities website to learn about the renewable energy programs they offer.
