Emily Spagnoli: Outdoor EdVentures Student Manager/ Rental Technician and Trips Leader
Working in Outdoor EdVentures is amazing because I get to work outside while being with those who love the outdoors just as much as I do. Who wouldn’t love that!? I am currently working towards a minor in Environmental Education after receiving a Psychology degree at UW-Stout. My EE minor will help me continue my education in the Environmental Education Fellowship program at the Conserve School in Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin. I enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and backpacking. My favorite trip was a couple summers ago when I hiked the length of Isle Royale. "We don't stop hiking because we grow old; we grow old because we stop hiking."
Rebecca Lee: Program Coordinator
Hello! I have worked with Outdoor EdVentures for this past semester and love it! Some of the things that I like to do are spend time outside hiking and enjoying nature. I also enjoy trying out new things and having fun. One of the really great parts about Outdoor EdVentures is that all of our trips are open to all abilities so even if you have never done something before you can try it here safely! We also have some great rentals so if you love to canoe, kayak, snowshoe, camp, etc. you can come rent your equipment here!
Kaylin: Rental Tech/Trips Leader
I was born October 13, 1988 and raised as the 6th generation to grow up on my family farm along with an older sister and a younger brother. Upon graduation from Markesan High School I moved on to bigger and better things (aka; UWSP) and am now in my 3rd year of college working toward a Physical Geography degree with an Adventure Education minor.
I was raised a traveler. Some of my earliest memories are of my family living out of our van for weeks on end traveling to far off places. As soon as I was big enough to carry a pack, one was slapped on my back and I was off into the wild. Since then I have come a long ways. I have hit trails from Alaska to Texas and spent 8 months backpacking through 14 European countries.
During my free hours I like to kick it with friends. Nothing beats a cool morning on the porch with a hot mug of coffee and a good friend. I also enjoy outdoor activities from hunting to canoeing and Frisbee to gardening.
I am always looking for new things to try and new places to see. I will always be on the go ready to live and learn.
Mike Tanner: I love being outside. Hiking, Biking, Paddling, Skiing, Climbing…I’ll do it, and it’ll probably be raining. White water rafting is probably my most favorite paddling sport, and cross country skiing is my favorite winter activity. Of course, if I were to go to the southern hemisphere after a summer of rafting, I’d be rafting and I’d be happy. But, if I was there in their winter after our winter, I’d be skiing and I’d be happy. So I guess the point is…I love to do it.
