Throughout the semester, UDS will be hosting special events, such as Focus on Foods, featuring Olives & Olive Oil, Wisconsin Artisan Cheeses, Whole Grains, International Cheeses, Citrus fruits, Heirloom Potatoes and other exciting foods.
Culinary Learning Journeys (CLJs) allow students to visit local farms, other universities and food producers. The journeys will increase awareness and understanding of where food comes from and how food production impacts our world. Visits will include question and answer sessions. There will be theme dinners throughout the year to introduce student to new flavors they might not otherwise find in central Wisconsin. Themes include Fiesta Mexicana, a Fall Harvest Dinner, Seven Fishes, Caribbean Carnival, Mardi Gras and others, to be determined by student survey.
