BIO

As a native of Minocqua, I have long been familiar with central and northern Wisconsin. I conducted my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire where I received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Spanish. Afterwards, I received my Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame where I specialized in Labor Economics and the Economics of Aging. Upon completion of graduate school, I taught for a year at Drew University, a liberal arts college in northern New Jersey, and returned home to the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in August of 2005. My research focus is labor economics, emphasizing the retirement decision and the implications of an aging society. Specific research projects have included the health effects of retirement, the distribution of retirement leisure in society, and the overall health and well-being of the older segment of society.
