softball player Jackie Berger earned her first career Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference weekly honor after helping the
Pointers to five victories in three doubleheaders during the past week.
 Berger,
a Bonduel native, was the league's softball position player of the week as
the Pointers were 5-1 last week, including three conference victories. The
junior rightfielder went 11-for-23 at the plate for a .478 average. She
had five runs scored, one double and three RBI�s. Berger went
five-for-nine in a doubleheader sweep of Edgewood that snapped the Eagles�
17-game winning streak.
The Pointers are
currently 23-14-1 overall and open conference tournament play on Friday in
Menomonie. |
