Jablonski and Zierler Land WIAC Softball Player of the Week Awards

UW-Stevens Point claimed both the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball pitcher and hitter of the week awards as Kelly Jablonski and Laura Zierler were both honored for their performances last week as the Pointers went 6-0 to improve to 21-8 for the season.

Jablonski, a freshman from Stevens Point, was named the pitcher of the week for the second time this year after throwing her second no-hitter of the season. She had the third perfect game in school history on Sunday in a five-inning win over Lakeland, while finishing the week allowing no earned runs in 23 innings pitched. She struck out nine and walked one for the week.

Zierler, a freshman third baseman from Kaukauna, hit .579 (11-for-19) last week and had hits in every game. She went two-for-two with an RBI in a 3-0 win over UW-Oshkosh and went two-for-three in a 2-0 second game win for a doubleheader sweep of the Titans. Zierler added four runs scored and three RBIs for the week.
