Anderson Named
First-Team All-Region, Bauer and Feidt Second Team
Junior Stephanie Anderson earned first-team
honors in leading three UW-Stevens Point selections to the All-Great Lakes
Region team selected by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Anderson, one of the team�s top hitters and
pitchers, was the utility selection to the squad and is now eligible for
All-American honors. Junior leftfielder Rebekah Bauer and junior second
baseman Jenny Feidt were both named to the second team. It marks the first
All-Region accolades for all three players.
The Pointers finished 26-15 overall and tied for
third place in the WIAC standings. It marked the team�s 12th consecutive
20-win season.
Anderson, who attended Milwaukee King High
School, split time between first base and pitcher. She batted .351 and
also ranked third in the league with a 1.05 earned run average. She had a
team-leading five home runs and 20 RBI�s, while also ranking second in the
league with 12 doubles. On the mound, Anderson was fourth in the league
with 99 strikeouts along with just 29 walks in 113 innings pitched.
Bauer, a Stevens Point native who attended
Stevens Point Area Senior High, ranked second on the team and 10th in the
league with a .354 batting average while starting all 41 games. Bauer
ranked second in the WIAC with 12 doubles and struck out just four times
in 142 plate appearances.
Feidt, a Kimberly native, hit .309 with eight
doubles and 15 RBI�s. She was also one of the top defensive second basemen
in the league with a .962 fielding percentage, committing just eight
errors in 213 chances. |
