RIVER FALLS - The University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point softball team saw its season come to an end Friday
with a pair of losses at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
Tournament.
The sixth-seeded Pointers (20-21) fell behind by four runs after the first
three innings and eventually dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 3 Superior in
the opening round of the tournament.
Melissa Boldt was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Mandy Jellish was
1-for-3 with an RBI. Stephanie Anderson (9-12) took the loss, striking out
three in six innings of work.
In the second game, UW-La Crosse's Alli Romoren tossed a two-hit shutout
as the Pointers fell by a score of 2-0.
Kelly Schmidt took the loss, striking out three and walking two in four
innings.
