Weise Helps Pointers Put Away UW-Superior

Box Score

Kaylee Weise contributed on all three of UW-Stevens Point's second half goals as the Pointers posted a 4-0 women's soccer victory over UW-Superior on Friday at the Pointer Soccer Bowl.

UW-Stevens Point scored the first goal of the match when Gwen Blasczyk took a pass from Amanda Prawat 15 yards from net and blasted a shot into the upper corner.

The match remained 1-0 until Weise and Anna Van Stippen helped spark the offense in the final 17 minutes. Van Stippen threaded a long pass through the defense and Weise finished the play with a goal for a 2-0 advantage.

Weise fed Liz Kidd for a shot from 20 yards out that Kidd converted past the keeper to make it 3-0. Weise struck again on a breakaway off a pass from Van Stippen with 3:31 remaining to finish the scoring.

UW-Stevens Point fired 22 shots in the second half and held a 37-4 advantage for the match. The Pointers' defense posted its fifth shutout of the year with Meredith DeCaluwe making three saves.

The Pointers host conference unbeaten UW-Eau Claire on Saturday at 2 p.m.
