Pointers Reach Double Figures For
Third Straight WIAC Match
For the third time in seven days, the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point women�s soccer team scored in double figures as
the Pointers thumped UW-Superior 12-0 Friday in Superior.
Marie Muhvic, who became the Pointers� all-time leading scorer on
Thursday, added to her record with three more goals Friday. Molly Cady
also had three goals as the Pointers outshot the Yellowjackets 46-0.
It marked the third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference match that UW-Stevens Point reached double figures after
beating UW-River Falls 10-0 Saturday and UW-Stout 10-1 on Wednesday. The
Pointers are now 8-4 overall and 5-0 in the WIAC, having outscored their
conference opponents 40-2.
Jenny Bruce scored two goals and also played nine minutes in goal
for the Pointers, who led 4-0 at halftime. Other goal scorers included
Sara Robazek, Gretchen Talbot, Abby Rabinovitz and Brianna Hyslop.
The Pointers play their next five matches on the road,
including a match at Edgewood Wednesday at 7 p.m.
