Muhvic
Sets Single-Game and Career Records as Pointers Advance
Marie
Muhvic became the first player in University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
women's soccer history to score four goals in a match while also becoming
the school's all-time career points leader in a 10-0 win over
UW-Platteville Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament at the Pointer Soccer Bowl.
Muhvic
scored one first half goal and three goals in seven minutes in the second
half to set the single-game school record. She now has 25 goals and 12
assists this season for 62 points, giving her 162 career points, which
surpasses Susie Lindauer's school record of 155 points.
The
Pointers have won 10 straight games by a combined score of 59-2 to improve
to 16-4 overall. They advance to the semifinals and will host UW-Oshkosh
Friday at 11 a.m. The Titans have won nine straight matches and boast a
15-3 record after beating UW-Stout 7-0 on Tuesday. UW-Whitewater will face
UW-Eau Claire in the other semifinal at 2 p.m.
UW-Stevens
Point outshot UW-Platteville 43-1 as Mickey Jacob added two goals and an
assist and Andrea Spiel had three assists. Molly Cady had two assists.
