Baseball - Position Player

Ryan Byrnes (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) - The sophomore rightfielder smashed a first-inning home run twice this week in leading the Pointers to a 5-1 record. Byrnes hit a three-run shot in the Pointers' 16-4 win over ninth-ranked UW-Oshkosh, and a grand slam against UW-La Crosse in a 10-2 victory on Sunday. For the week, Byrnes hit .375 (six-for-16) with a pair of doubles in addition to his two home runs. He picked up nine runs batted in, and earned three base on balls.

Baseball - Pitcher

Jordan Zimmermann (Auburndale, WI/Auburndale) - The freshman righthander scattered nine hits over 7.1 innings in a 3-2 victory over UW-La Crosse to earn his second win of the season. He with teammate Kevin Pankow combined to hold the Eagles to just one hit over the final five innings. Zimmermann surrendered just one earned run, while striking out four hitters.

Softball - Position Player

Stephanie Anderson (Milwaukee, WI/King) - The junior pitcher/first baseman had seven extra base hits in nine games this week. Anderson hit a pair of doubles and knocked in three runs against Northland College. She also has three RBIs against UW-La Crosse, when she ripped a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning. For the week, Anderson hit .387 (12-for-31) with five doubles, a triple and a home run. She drove in 10 runs, and has now hit safely in 15 of her last 16 games played.

Softball - Pitcher

Stephanie Anderson (Milwaukee, WI/King) - The junior lefthanded pitcher recorded two wins this week, allowing just two earned runs. Anderson fired a one-hitter at Northland College, scoring an 8-0 victory while striking out eight. She also defeated UW-Whitewater 2-1, giving up just three hits. For the week, Anderson threw 28.2 innings, allowing just seven hits and two earned runs for an ERA of 0.49. She averaged 7.3 strikeouts per seven innings, fanning 30.

Men's Track Events

Mark LaLonde (Park Falls, WI/Park Falls) - The senior runner was the top Division III competition in the 1,500 meters at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational. LaLonde finished second overall in a time of 3:57.73, just one second behind the lead runner.

Men's Field Events

Kent Hutchinson (Green Bay, WI/Preble) - The junior placed in both the long jump and the high jump at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational. Hutchinson finished third in the long jump with his best effort measuring 6.91 meters (22' 8''). He followed that performance with a sixth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.90 meters (6' 2.75'').

Women's Track Events

Jenna Mitchler (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) - The junior continued her outstanding season, winning the 1,500 meter run at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational. She topped a field of 35 runners with a time of 4:41.94. She also ran on the Pointers' victorious 4 x 400 meter relay team, which claimed their event in 4:04.83.

Women's Field Events

Julia Slabosheski (Princeton, WI/Princeton) - The senior thrower recorded an NCAA provisional mark and a personal best while placing high in three events at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational. Slabosheski won the discus with a qualifying mark of 43.44 meters (142' 6''). She placed second in the javelin with a personal record of 36.87 meters (120' 11''), and third in the shot put at 12.33 meters (40' 5.5'').
