Women�s Hockey
Julie LaClair (White Bear Lake, MN) � The sophomore
goaltender posted two shutouts over the weekend as the Pointers clinched their
second straight NCHA title. LaClair stopped all 12 shots in Friday�s 5-0 win
over Finlandia and then made 11 saves, including six in the third period, to
preserve a 1-0 title-clinching win over the Lions on Saturday. LaClair made just
her second and third starts of the season in the critical series, filling in for
regular goaltender Amy Statz.

1600-Meter Relay

The relay team posted a provisional time of 3:18.35 and helped lead the
Pointers to a second-place finish at the Pointer Qualifier on Saturday in
Stevens Point. The time is good for fifth on the NCAA Honor Roll.
Men's Field Events
Pete Prusinski
(Rib Lake, WI)
- The senior finished second in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet, 2.5
inches, which was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. The Pointers finished
second with 125.5 points at Saturday�s Pointer Qualifier at Stevens Point.

Track Events
Katie Simo
(Appleton, WI/East) � The junior led the Pointers to a third-place finish
at Saturday�s Pointer Qualifier in Stevens Point. Simo won the 400 meter dash,
posting a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 58.34. Simo also anchored the
winning 1600-meter relay team with a victorious time of 3:56.98.

Beth Richter
(Green Bay, WI/Preble) - The
junior had a day of personal bests as she helped lead the Pointers to a
third-place finish at Saturday�s Pointer Qualifier in Stevens Point. Richter
finished second in the triple jump and set a new personal record with a leap of
10.66 meters and finished fifth in the long jump, jumping 5.10 meters. Richter
also set a personal best in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.72, which was
good enough to make the finals and finish sixth.
