Players of the Week � Apr. 5

Baseball � Position Player

Chuck Brehm (Spencer, WI/Spencer) � The freshman centerfielder carried the Pointers to a thrilling 8-7 come-from-behind victory over St. Norbert. Brehm hit two run home runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to cut into a 6-0 Green Knights lead. He then hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. For the week, Brehm hit .389 (seven-for-18) with a pair of home runs, a double, a stolen base and eight runs batted in.

Baseball � Pitcher

Aaron Achterberg (Eau Claire, WI/North) � The junior right-hander picked pitched six and a third innings in relief to earn the win over fourth-ranked UW-Oshkosh. Achterberg allowed just three hits over the final five innings to secure a 6-4 victory. He allowed one earned run, gave up six hits, struck out four, while walking just one.

Softball � Position Player

Rebekah Bauer (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) � The sophomore outfielder went three-for- eight with a home run and a double in the Pointers� doubleheader sweep over Edgewood. Bauer hit her two-run home run in the sixth inning of the first game to give the Pointers a 7-0 lead.

Softball � Pitcher

Alysia Klawitter (Auburndale, WI/Auburndale) � The freshman pitcher fired three perfect innings to pick up her first career save against Edgewood. She retired all nine batters she faced, inducing six ground balls. Klawitter has allowed just one earned run in 10 innings pitched this season.

Men�s Track Events

Andrew Schliepp (Redgranite, WI/Wild Rose) � The senior placed second in both hurdle events and also helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a victory as the Pointers captured the North Central Invitational on Saturday. Schliepp posted an NCAA provisional time in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.65 seconds to finish two-hundreths of a second out of first place.

Men�s Field Events

Kent Hutchinson (Green Bay, WI/Preble) � The junior won two events to help the Pointers to the team title at Saturday�s North Central Invitational. He won the javelin with a throw of 162 feet, two inches and the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 4.25 inches.

Women�s Track Events

Jenna Mitchler (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) � The sophomore won the individual title in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:56.60 at Saturday�s North Central Invitational. She also was a member of the second place 4x400 meter relay that posted a time of 4:12.14.

Women�s Field Events

Becky Clarke (Antioch, IL/Antioch) � The senior had a personal record and posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark by winning the javelin at Saturday�s North Central Invite with a throw of 131 feet, 7.5 inches. She also placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and sixth in the long jump.
