Ivy (Kenosha,
WI/Duluth (GA)) � The senior outfielder led the Pointers� offensive
attack as they claimed three of four games from UW-River Falls. Ivy had hits
in each game extending his hitting streak to eight games. For the series,
Ivey hit .412 (seven-for-17) with three doubles, three RBI�s and two
stolen bases. Baseball

Verbrick (Appleton,
WI/Xavier) � The senior right-handed pitcher made history on Saturday in
Stevens Point. Verbrick threw the first nine-inning perfect game in the
history of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 5-0
victory over UW-River Falls. Verbrick had 10 strikeouts in the game. It was
the first UW-Stevens Point no-hitter since 1992 and the first perfect game
since a five-inning effort by Bill Kuse in 1961. Softball

Woller (Wausau,
WI/West) � The junior infielder had two hits including an RBI triple as
the Pointers completed a sweep with a 3-2 victory over Aurora on Saturday.
In four games this weekend against Chicago and Aurora, Woller hit .333
(four-for-12) with a triple, one RBI and one run scored. Softball

Guckenberger (South
Milwaukee, WI/South Milwaukee) � The junior pitcher picked up two wins,
earned a save and did not allow a run as the Pointers won three of four
games this weekend. Guckenberger fired a three-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over
Chicago, and a one-hitter in a 1-0 victory against Aurora. In 15 innings
pitched, Guckenberger gave up four hits, no runs, had 18 strikeouts, two
walks. Opponents batted just .082 against Guckenberger this weekend. Men�s

Newman (Holmen,
WI) � The senior sprinter won the 100 meters in a dual meet at UW-Oshkosh.
Newman led a Pointer sweep of the top three places with a time of 10.96
seconds. He also led off the winning 400 meter relay team and placed second
in the 200 meters with a time of 22.42 seconds. Men�s

Eschenbauch (Rosholt,
WI) � The junior thrower won both the shot put and the hammer throw in a
dual meet with UW-Oshkosh. Eschenbauch threw the shot 14.37 meters (47�
1.75��) and achieved an NCAA qualifying mark of 55.56 meters (182�
3��) in the hammer throw. He also placed fourth in the discus. Women�s

Vosters (Little
Chute, WI) � The sophomore placed second in her first ever 10,000 meter
race at the UW-La Crosse Invitational. Vosters time of 36:52.44
automatically qualified her for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships
in May. Women�s

Nechuta (Mosinee,
WI) � The freshman recorded a first and a second in windy conditions at
the UW-La Crosse Invitational. Nechuta won the shot put with a mark of 12.05
(39� 6.5��)meters and placed second in the discus with a throw of
37.28 meters (122� 4��). She was also tenth in the first hammer throw
competition of her career. |
