Frank McGettigan then made a key steal and was fouled with 1.6 seconds left. He missed the first, then made the second. After a timeout, the Pointers inbounded the ball all the way down the floor to Jason Kalsow, who dribbled out to the 3-point line, then fired from the top of the key. His shot rimmed out at the buzzer.

Reitzner led the Pioneers with 23 points, while McGettigan recorded a career-high with 19 points. He scored 11 of the Pioneers' first 16 points, helping the Pioneers to a 16-10 early lead. The Pioneers led the entire first half until Nick Bennett drained a 3-point shot with three seconds left, giving the Pointers a 34-32 lead.
