WHITEWATER - The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point men's basketball
team learned to win in a variety of ways during its 14-0 run to open the season.
Now the Pointers will have to learn about rebounding from a loss.
Aubrey Lewis-Byers led everybody with 22 points, and three Warhawks joined him
in double figures as UW-Whitewater blemished the Pointers' record with an 80-70
win in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest Wed-nesday night.
Josh Iserloth put up 21 points to lead the Pointers, and Jason Kalsow added 20.
The Pointers (14-1, 5-1 WIAC) were ranked fifth in the nation heading into the
game, and the Warhawks (12-2, 5-1 WIAC) were 14th before pulling into a tie atop
the league.
The Pointers hit just 3-of-21 from long range, Jason Kalsow was the team's most
efficient contributor with his 8-of-10 field goal shooting and he led the team
with eight rebounds.
Stevens Point has dropped five of its last six games against Whitewater.
The Pointers are back in action Saturday when they host UW-Superior at Quandt
Fieldhouse.
