Stevens Point Journal
PITTSBURGH - For the first time since the 1938-39 season, the
University of Wisconsin men's basketball team has started the season with a 10-0
mark. The Pointers' latest win came Sunday with a 69-47 defeat of Carnegie
Mellon University in Pittsburgh - home town for Pointers' head coach Jack
Bennett.
The Pointers jumped out to a 15-0 lead in Sunday's win and led by at least 11
points the rest of the way. Josh Iserloth (Plymouth, WI) finished with a
team-high 17 points, while Nick Bennett (Stevens Point, WI) added 12 points as
the Pointers held the Tartans to just 22.6 percent shooting for the game. Jason
Kalsow led the team with nine rebounds.
"It was a hard-earned victory. We played pretty tough defensively and had
to earn this one," he said.
