MEN'S BASKETBALL: Bennett wins 100th game as UW-SP coach

LA CROSSE -- Jack Bennett notched his 100th career victory as head coach of the UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team Tuesday with an 80-73 victory against Viterbo College, the Pointers' seventh straight victory against the V-Hawks

Bennett is the fastest coach in UW-SP history to reach 100 wins, accomplishing the feat in 138 games.

Josh Iserloth led UW-SP (3-0 overall) with 25 points, nailing nine 9-of-12 shots from the floor.  He was one point away from his career high of 26 points, set last season in a 79-58 victory at UW-La Crosse.  Iserloth also hauled in seven rebounds to lead UW-SP.

Other Pointers in double figures were Jason Kalsow with 14 and seven rebounds, Kalonji Kadima with 13 and Nick DeVos with 10.

After three games this season, the Pointers are shooting 60 percent from the field and 55 percent on three-point attempts.

Mike Brudos led Viterbo with 26 points on 8-of-19 shooting.  He also led his team with six rebounds.  Mike Glass also cracked double digits in scoring with 10 points.

The Pointers are back in action this weekend at the Oshkosh Invitational.  UW-SP face Edgewood College Saturday at 6 p.m. and Marian College in a 1 p.m. on Sunday.  UW-Stevens Point returns home to the Quandt Fieldhouse next Wednesday when it faces Carroll College with the tipoff set for 7 p.m.
