Falls Short at UW-Superior

SUPERIOR - Randall Smisko scored two goals for
UW-Superior as the Yellowjackets defeated the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point 7-4 on Friday.
UWSP (11-9-2, 4-6-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association) struck the first
blow as Mark Peters scored a goal at the 7:25 mark of the first period.
David Lee and Mike Brolsma assisted on the goal.
However, Superior (13-6-3, 6-3-2 NCHA) scored the next five goals of the
game, begun with Smisko's goals past Pointer goalie Ryan Scott.
Adam Kostichka broke the scoring drought for UWSP with a goal at the 11:28
mark of the third period. Brolsma and Nick Zerbo were credited with the
assists. Exactly 2 minutes later, David Lee snuck the puck past Superior
goalie Baron Bradley.
Brett Coburn scored a goal for UWSP at the 15:29 mark of the third to cut
the Superior lead to 5-4, but were unable to chalk up the equalizer.
The Pointers are at St. Scholatica today.
