Kostichka Named to All-WIAC
Men�s Hockey Team
UW-Stevens Point junior forward Adam Kostichka was
named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men�s hockey
squad after leading the Pointers in scoring for the second straight year.
Senior forward Justin Micek and freshman forward
Nick Zebro both earned honorable mention All-WIAC honors for the Pointers,
who are 13-11-3 overall entering this weekend�s Northern Collegiate Hockey
Association semifinals in De Pere.
Kostichka, a Stevens Point Area Senior High
graduate, was named to the first team for the second straight year. He ranks
second in the WIAC with 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points this season,
including a team-high five power play goals. Kostichka has scored points in
22 of the team�s 27 games, including eight straight contests.
Micek, an Elk River, Minn. native has six goals
and 12 assists for 18 points. He has spread his points around 15 different
games.
Zebro, a Mosinee native, has seven goals and 11
assists this season for 18 points. He ranks second among WIAC freshmen in
scoring.
Kostichka was also one of three UW-Stevens Point
players named to the All-NCHA Academic team along with junior David Scott
(Moorhead, Minn.) and sophomore Jordan Blair (Wausau, Wis.). All three were
first-time selections. |
