Big First Day Helps Pointers Finish
Fourth at Oshkosh
An outstanding effort on Saturday helped the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point women's golf team earn a fourth place finish at
the seven-team UW-Oshkosh Invitational over the weekend.
The Pointers used seven birdies to shoot a season-low 343 on
Saturday before adding a 358 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of
701. UW-Stevens Point was in second place after the first day and
opening-day leader UW-Eau Claire proceeded to win the meet with a 670.
Kathryn Carlson placed 11th with a two-day total of 171
to lead the Pointers. Rachel Sime was 15th with a 175 and
Andrea Miller was 17th with a 177, including an eagle on
Saturday.
UW-Stevens Point will compete at the WIAC Championships on Saturday
and Sunday in Janesville.
