Men Place Fourth, Women Eighth at WIAC Meet
Travis Nechuta placed sixth overall as the UW-Stevens Point men�s
cross country team finished fourth at Saturday�s Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships in La Crosse.
Hannah Dieringer turned in a solid performance
for the women�s team with a ninth place finish, but the Pointers
finished eighth overall in the team standings.
Nechuta posted an 8,000-meter time of 25:46
and Dominick Meyer was 13th overall in 26:07. Mike Ormond placed 22nd in
26:32 and Phil Richert was 23rd in 26:37. Cory Towle finished 26th in
26:46 as the Pointers finished with 90 points to trail first place UW-La
Crosse, which had 35 points.
The Eagles also won the women�s meet with 47
points as the Pointers totaled 180 points. Dieringer had a time of 22:48
over the 6,000 meters and Sara Rammer was 36th in 24:10. Alison Wolter
was 42nd in 24:33 and Amy Haupt and Ashley Woest both had a time of
24:44 to finish 46th and 47th, respectively. |
