Nearly Complete Sweep at Ripon Invite
Only UW-Madison stood in the way from a sweep
for the UW-Stevens Point cross country teams at Saturday�s Ripon
Invitational.
The Pointer men�s team captured the team title
at the 11-team event, while the women�s team was second among 10 teams
behind only the Division I Badgers.
Cory Towle placed second overall as the
Pointers had six of the top 10 men�s finishers. UW-Stevens Point had 31
points and UW-Oshkosh was second with 50 points. Towle posted a time of
26:41, while Mark Mitchell was fifth in 26:51 and George Carlson was
seventh in 27:11. Adam Lang was eighth overall in 27:14, Zach Bitter was
ninth in 27:31 and Dan Brinker placed 10th in 27:33.
Hannah Dieringer was fourth overall in 20:02
to lead the women�s team, which had 64 points to trail the Badgers by 40
points in the team standings. Allison Wolter was 11th overall in 21:06,
Amy Haupt was 14th in 21:23, Ashley Woest was 17th in 21:37 and Tanya
Palmer was 18th in 21:56.
