Freshmen Pace Pointers at Notre Dame Invite
A pair of freshmen led the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team to
a 15th place finish at Friday's Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend,
Ind.
Dominick Meyer was 36th
overall in 25:59 and Travis Nechuta was 75th in 26:23. The Pointers
totaled 387 team points in the 26-team event that featured several NCAA
Division I squads. Defending Division III national champion Calvin
(Mich.) won the meet with 45 points.
Mike Ormond posted an 80th
place effort with a time of 26:26, Justin Andrews was 99th in 26:42 and
Cory Bauman was 110th in 26:55 for the Pointers.
UW-Stevens Point's men's
and women's teams will compete at the Ripon Invitational on Oct. 8.
