Pointers Dominate Concordia Invitational
UW-Stevens Point placed all five runners among the top 10 finishers in
both the men's and women's races to easily capture the team titles at
Saturday's Concordia Invitational in Mequon.
The Pointer men's team had
17 team points with Concordia (Wis.) placing second with 92 points. The
UW-Stevens Point women had 25 points to finish ahead of runner-up St.
Scholastica, which had 65 points.
The men's squad had the
top three finishers with Mike Ormond crossing the line first in 26:11.
Travis Nechuta was second in 26:29 and Dominick Meyer was third in
26:51. Cory Baumann placed fifth in 27:08 and Joe Rodriguez was sixth in
27:12.
UW-Stevens Point even had
the seventh and eighth place performers as Denton Helms was seventh in
27:15 and Justin Andrews was one second behind.
Jenna Mitchler was the
runner-up in the women's race with a time of 18:36. Teresa Stanley
placed third in 19:31 and Ashleigh Potuznik was fourth in 19:32. Kayla
Anderson was seventh in 20:00 and Laura Koepp was ninth in 20:08.
