Pointer Women Place Four of Top Eight at Oshkosh
UW-Stevens Point had four of the top eight
women's finishers all finish within 27 seconds at Friday's UW-Oshkosh
Open in Winneconne. No team scores were kept at the meet.
Samatha Leinon led the Pointers with a third
place finish in 20:09 over the 5,000-meter course. Christine Becker was
fourth in 20:17, Erin Jasperson was sixth in 20:21 and Deidra Mueller
was eighth in 20:36.
Jonathon Waldvogel paced the UW-Stevens Point
men's team with a fifth place finish in 26:42. Drew Ward was 11th in
27:31 and Nick Berndt was 12th in 27:41. Both the men's and women's
teams rested several of their top runners with the Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet set for Sat., Oct. 29 in
Superior.
