LaLonde Named WIAC Men's Cross Country
Scholar-Athlete UW-Stevens Point senior Mark LaLonde has
been named the 2004 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Max
Sparger Men�s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete.
LaLonde, a senior from Park Falls, Wis., is majoring in business
administration and economics and maintains a 3.78 grade point average.
He has been recognized on UW-Stevens Point�s Dean�s List seven semesters
and is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. LaLonde
has also been the recipient of an American Production and Inventory
Control Society Scholarship.
LaLonde helped UW-Stevens Point to a third-place finish at this
year�s WIAC championship by placing fourth overall. He finished eighth
at last year�s conference meet after finishing sixth in 2001. LaLonde
secured All-America honors last season after placing 12th at the NCAA
Division III Championship and helped the Pointers to a school-best
second-place national finish.
LaLonde is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and also works
as a student grounds technician at UW-Stevens Point.
LaLonde becomes the fourth men�s cross country student-athlete from
UW-Stevens Point to receive the conference scholar-athlete award. He
joins Curt Johnson (2003), Dan Schwamberger (1999) and Jeremie Johnson
(1994). |
