FOND DU LAC - Marian College put on a hit parade but had to hold on for a sweep of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point baseball team in a nonconference doubleheader on Wednesday.

In Game 1, Matt Peetz and Matt Polomis each went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead UWSP (21-13), but Marian (25-16) countered with a 3-for-4 day by Brad Behringer and chalked up a six-run sixth inning before holding off a pair of two-run frames by the Pointers for the 10-9 victory.

Jake Penzer allowed four runs on five hits through two innings but got the win, while Jeremy Mueller gave up two earned runs on four hits in taking the loss.

In the nightcap, no Pointer garnered more than one hit, while Dan Wilson led Marian with a 3-for-4 day.

Cory Tjader struck out two, walked four and gave up four earned runs on five hits through six innings for the win.

Zac Peterson fanned four and walked three, giving up three earned runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss.
