UW-Stevens Point senior first baseman Matt Peetz and sophomore second baseman Jake Frombach were both named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team, while five others earned honorable mention accolades.

Meanwhile, senior catcher Joe Waksmonski, junior pitcher Aaron Achterberg, junior outfielder Matt Polomis, freshman outfielder Chuck Brehm and freshman pitcher Matt Simonson were named honorable mention.

The Pointers finished 25-16 overall and placed third in the WIAC, winning at least 25 games for the eighth consecutive season.

Polomis, a Wausaukee native, ranked third on the team with a .315 average and was second on the squad with 13 doubles. He drove in 25 runs and did most of his damage late in the season, hitting .423 (22-for-52) over the last 13 games of the regular season.

Brehm, a Spencer native, was fourth on the team with a .313 average and also ranked second with 35 runs scored. He had eight doubles and six home runs with 26 RBIs. Brehm did not commit an error in 86 fielding chances in centerfield.
