Ewald was a first-team All-American defensive end as a senior in 1987 by the NAIA and Football News. Ewald registered 106 tackles during his senior season, including eight quarterback sacks, four fumble recoveries and a team-high 13 tackles for loss. Ewald totaled 70 tackles and nine sacks as a junior along with 52 tackles as a sophomore. He was a two-time All-Conference and NAIA All-Region selection. The Marion native is still active in many cycling events and has run numerous marathons, including the 2001 Chicago Marathon.

Henderson is the second-leading rusher in Pointer history despite playing just three seasons. He gained 3,097 yards in his career and holds school career records for rushes with 611 and rushing touchdowns with 38. Henderson gained a school-record 277 yards and scored a school-record five touchdowns in a win over UW-Oshkosh in 1993. His single-season marks of 1,556 yards and 261 carries as a senior in 1993 are also school records. He was a first-team Associated Press Little All-American and first-team All-American by Football Gazette and Champion as a senior. The Brown Deer native currently manages Changes Group Home for boys in New London.

Picture (1472x1757, 2785.6Kb)Shannon Houlihan - Track/Field Hockey - 1977-82
Houlihan was an All-American track and field athlete and All-Conference field hockey performer. She won the Wisconsin state championship in the 400-meter hurdles in 1981 with a time of 1:03.74 that still stands as the second-oldest school-record in UW-Stevens Point history. She placed sixth in the 400 hurdles at the 1981 Division III championships, helping the Pointers to a sixth place team finish. She also played four seasons of field hockey and helped lead the Pointers to an NCAA Division III tournament appearance in 1981. The Stevens Point native has been the program director for the childcare department at South Sound YMCA for 13 years.

Persick is the only All-American in Pointer volleyball history, earning second-team honors in 1985, while leading UW-Stevens Point to Division III tournament appearances in 1984 and 1985 as the team�s Most Valuable Player. She was a first-team All-Conference setter twice in her career and second-team All-Conference once. Persick�s team won a school-record 44 matches during her senior year, while a posting a 21-1 conference record. The Rhinelander native currently works as a medical technologist at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee.

Picture (1279x1643, 1574.1Kb)Tiffany (Hubbard) Strabala - Swimming - 1990-93
Strabala is one of the most decorated women�s swimmers in UW-Stevens Point history, earning three All-American honors and 14 honorable mention All-American accolades during her four year career. She qualified for nationals in each of her four years and won eight overall conference championships in the 200 individual medley, 200 breaststroke and 200 and 400 medley relays. An honor roll student, Strabala earned the UW-Stevens Point Citizenship Award and Chancellor�s Leadership Award. An Anoka, Minn. native, she has been a counselor for Youth Service International, an admissions counselor and a high school special education teacher.

Picture (1200x1849, 2440Kb)Marty Loy - Wrestling Coach - 1987-98
Loy coached the Pointers to five WIAC championships in his 11 seasons with the Pointers. He took a squad that finished seventh in the conference his first season to a team that finished among the top two in the WIAC and among the top 10 nationally in each of his last seven years. Loy compiled a 128-57-1 dual meet record, posting over 100 more wins than any other coach in school history. He coached three national champions and 27 All-Americans. A five-time WIAC Coach of the Year, Loy was recently named the head of the school of Health Promotion and Human Development at UW-Stevens Point. He received the school�s Excellence in Teaching Award last year.
