Volunteerism

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference in the community, gain valuable experience and make friends!  Check out this page for a list of all the different volunteer opportunities available both on and off campus.

Leadership

Through any of our leadership programs, you will begin to develop the necessary skills and confidence to be a leader on campus and in your future career.

RecreationRecreation

  • You can get outside before even arriving on campus by participating in Pathways to Point, a wilderness orientation program for incoming freshmen.
  • With miles of hiking and biking trails and a 24-acre lake perfect for fishing, canoeing and row boating, the 275-acre Schmeekle Nature Reserve (right on campus!) is a popular recreational destination for our students.
  • The Cardio Center, conveniently located by the residence halls in the Allen Recreation Center, offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment, personal trainers, massage therapy and more to its student members.
  • The Health Enhancement Center is home to multiple gymnasiums, the Strength and Fitness Center, the Aquatic Center and a 54,000 square foot Multi-Activity Center.
  • During the academic year, about 30 group fitness classes are offered each week through the Group Fitness Program, most of which are completely free to students.
  • You can take classes, go on organized trips, plan your own adventure weekend and rent all the sports, recreation and camping equipment you'll need to get out there at Outdoor Edventures.
  • With 25 different sports to choose from, including basketball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, dodgeball, Badminton and hockey, you won't have any difficulty finding an activity to get your feet moving and your heart pumping through UWSP Intramural sports.
