Mission

The primary mission of the Office of the Registrar is to coordinate the registration of undergraduate and graduate students and to preserve their academic records. Auxiliary services that support this mission include: web registration, degree and enrollment verifications, transcript services, room scheduling, degree audits, grade lists, and the preparation of timetables, reports, and diplomas. In addition, the Office of the Registrar ensures athletic eligibility of student athletes, coordinates education benefits for veterans and their dependents, monitors university compliance for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and maintains an historical record of academic policies and procedures.

Interdepartmental Activities

The Office of the Registrar provides the following support to other offices on campus:
  • Military Science: evaluate two-year academic plans for Military Science students
  • Foreign Student Office: register all new foreign students
  • Academic Advising: field calls from departments and SAAC related to transfer credits and General Degree Requirements (GDR)
  • Financial Aid: unofficial drops- On behalf of Financial Aid and in support of a Federal mandate, e-mail faculty multiple times per semester to gather data of last date on students who stop attending classes (run 12 reports per year). Monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and send out letters to students who are not in compliance.
  • University Relations: maintain graduation lists in support of the commencement ceremony.
  • College of Natural Resources: Report annual data to the Food and Agricultural Education Information System (FAEIS) for the College of Natural Resources (CNR)
