Goals
- Encourage students and alumni to engage in
self-assessment to clarify values, interests and skills in
order to make well-informed decisions concerning academic
and career choices.
- Promote greater individual awareness of the world of
work, the importance of early career planning and the stages
of career development over one’s lifetime.
- Collaborate with units and departments to promote career
awareness and planning through advising, curriculum
development and extracurricular activities.
- Assist students in pursuing opportunities that integrate
classroom learning with career-related experiences.
- Provide tailored assistance to identify employment
options and prepare materials relevant to securing
meaningful work and/or pursue further education.
- Foster partnerships with employers to monitor market
trends, link employers with academic
departments/administration, and assist employers with the
hiring process.
